“It may well be my Chinese roots that I dared to use olive oil in Asian cuisine. My Spanish mother regularly made fried rice with olive oil for my Chinese father and that rice was always delicious. Ultimately, it's about taste and as far as I'm concerned, traditions can sometimes be broken.”
